Helen asks…
How can I practice basketball ball handling at home?
I can’t dribble the ball at home so is there any way I can work on my ball handling?
I asked if I can practice it at home.

The Expert answers:
Yes, there are some ways to improve your ball handling. One thing you could do is buy one of those grip masters, and if you squeeze those for 15 minitues a day, it will stregnthen your hands and improve your grip, which will help you have better control over the basketball. Another thing you could do is take a ball and do figure 8 drills, which is moving the ball between your legs, hips, and around your head, without dribbling it, or you could take a basketball and throw it back and forth between your left and right hands, which will increase your dribbling speed

David asks…
How can i take my basketball ball handling skills to the next level?
I want to take my ball handling to the next level.

The Expert answers:
Quit looking at the ball when you dribble. It will be the single most important thing you do when practicing. That way when you’re in the game, you don’t have to worry about looking at the ball and you can find your open teammates for the easy score. Stare at the hoop when you practice dribbling or close you eyes. Also purchase a pair of dribbling goggles. You can find them online, but check them out at http://www.youth-basketball-camps.com under training aid reviews.
Good luck with improving your skills!

Sharon asks…
How can i improve my basketball ball handling?
I can shoot i got great speed to the rim but my ball handling isn’t that good how can i improve it with one ball only, during the summer ?

The Expert answers:
Do you have a small ball, like a tennis or racquet ball? If so, bounce that almost every where you go, it improves balance while dribbling. Another way is setting chairs or objects in a swirvey line and dribble a basketball around them. Practice drills like dribbling between your legs, around your back, and just plain dribbling. Good luck.

John asks…

I have been playing streetball for about 3 months now. I play a decent amount of time. I just wanted to know what a good way to build ball-handling skills is? if you have any ideas or information please tell me.

The Expert answers:
I say set up obstacle courses outside your home… Such as cones and dribble through them. Practice with two basketballs instead of one. Try to practice in the dark. And play soccer, it will teach you coordination…
