Steven asks…

How to make it to ncaa division one men’s college basketball or the nba?

Hey I am Asadur Rahman and I am 18 years old. I have been playing basketball ever since I was 11 years old. I am 5.95 inches tall without my shoes. I weigh 142 pounds. I can jump real high. I go to a division iii men’s basketball college called CUNY hunter college in manhattan, ny. I am a seek freshman and I don’t play for the team. I missed the men’s basketball tryouts in september 2010. I hope to tryout in september 2011. I never played for my high school’s basketball team. The high school I went to was Hillcrest high school in south jamaica, queens. I am a inch away from grabbing the rim. I got ball handle, layups, and shots. I can beat a lot of players one on one. I can beat players during recreation hours even if their taller, shorter, stronger, or weaker than me. I am planning to play in rucker park in harlem manhattan ny. Do you think I can get a scholarship or asponsorshipp for my talents. I played basketball in parks and in hillcrest high school in physical education. I beat the players one on one in the parks and in my high school. I got high basketball IQ.

The Expert answers:

DANG YOUR (((5.95))) INCHES TALL AND CAN ALMOST GRAB THE RIM YOU GOT HOPS DUDE. YOUR LIKE THE HEIGHT OF A FETUS.

Laura asks…

Are they in a cult?

I have a sister who is older than me by 13 years… she is married to a Southern Baptist minister and they have 5 daughters… yes, 5! My mother and grandmother have supported their entire family *new cars, houses, private education*. All in all they have spent a little over a million dollars in the past 10 years because my brother in law is a pastor and they didn’t want the girls to want for anything…
recently my mother quit doing it because she realized she was of the oldest daughter… Rachel is a brillant girl, first in her class, captian of the basketball team, and homecoming queen… a charmed existance if there ever was one. She recently turned down a full ride basketball scholarship to University of Georgia *one of the best basketball colleges in the states* Her reason for this was “God wants me to stay home and be with my family” Is she brainwashed? Are they ina cult? What can I do.
okay I couldn’t put everything in the questions part.
Every question you ask them, it leads back to “God” my niece told me I’m going to hell for living with my boyfriend.
Her parents won’t let the girls watch 101 Dalmations because of Cruela Devil! It’s like they take everything to the extreme.
They are living in an unrealistic workd and I’m worried their children are goign to be so sheltered that they will never be able to survive outside of their home.

The Expert answers:

I know that southern baptist can be not a cult but overwhelming with pressure on staying home, they are old country – woman stay at home etc. Unfortunatley there is nothing you can do personally since it’s their religion. Try seeing if you can take the oldest daughter for a while (if your old enough) just to hang out, etc. Sometimes when they see what the outside world is about they break off from the church. Good luck

Maria asks…

Why liberal women dislike Gov. Sarah Palin?

Few women have attained all the achievements that Gov. Palin has in such a short time and this grates on liberal women, they want women to achieve but not greater than their achievements. Gov. Palin has been a success at everything she has done from point guard on her high school basketball team to beauty queen to the Governorship. Liberal women also have a hard time accepting the fact that she is a devout pro-life Christian, married and only once, and raising a family including a down’s syndrome child. Liberals have a hard time understanding a principled life-style and if they can’t compete with this life-style they can’t handle it and they try to destroy it. GO SARAH

The Expert answers:

Probably because Sarah Palin is better looking than most liberal women!

David asks…

Paul asks…

Which is better St Johns or Drexel?

Im finishing up college stuff and i wanted to know: between St Johns University in Queens NY and Drexel University in Philadelphia which is the better university. I know that i like St Johns better because it has a Big East Basketball team and I like the campus better but academics wise (like preparing for jobs and getting jobs after college) which is the better university?
Dont wory about me fam, im getting in with scolarships and stuff, just answer the question.

The Expert answers:

ST Johns is probably a bit better. But not necessarily by a lot, or in all programs. I know quite a few of the faculty there, and they are in my estimation, quite good – devoted to students.

Michael asks…

serious or just over reacting?

jan10 i tore legiments in my ankle tore a muscle and stretched three tendens. about feb 14 i was back in basketball. i did fine for the rest of the season. but im scared of hurting it again. the doc said if i reinjure it i could possibley have surgery. im afraid it will ruein my future career i no its unlikely but i want to play for OU basketball team. am i just being a drama queen or what?

The Expert answers:

You are definitely not being a drama queen! You are afraid of experiencing the same effects as you had before. Is there a way you could talk to your coach or parents about this? I would ask the coach for his advice or someone else in the field of basketball. Good luck!
