Should highschool cheerleaders attend and support girls AND boys basketball games?
Whitney Point is one of 14 high schools in the Binghamton area that began sending cheerleaders to girls’ games in late November, after the mother of a female basketball player in Johnson City, N.Y., filed a discrimination complaint with the United States Department of Education. She said the lack of official sideline support made the girls seem like second-string, and violated Title IX’s promise of equal playing fields for both sexes.
Should cheerleaders attend and support girls basketball games as well?

Why not? I was a cheerleader in High School for 4 years and we cheerleaded at football games & basketball games, the same squad both for boys and girls..sometimes we even helped out at the freshman games…If you wouldn’t be cheering at both then why be a cheerleader? You are suppose to be school spirited and cheer on everyone not just basketball and football….thats why most of the schools have wrestling cheerleaders as well..everyone needs to be cheered on at some point.

I’m not trying to be sarcastic but AAU.com. And if you are looking to find out information about one single team, then see if they have a website on leaguelineup.com. Most AAU teams have them. Hope this helps!!

i wear long black nike socks. an normally a pony tail with a prewrap headband. i kinda like french braids. what do u think?

I do french braids, high ponytails, low ponytails, and I once did a bun.
I’m not really into cute, but i do use alot of headbands, and barets and stuff like that

August 1984 LA,USA- The USA defeated South Korea 85-55 to win the gold medal. This was the 2nd time the USA played South Korea in the tournament beating them 84-47. Star player Cheryl Miller 16 pta and 11 rebounds.
Head Coach for the USA Women Pat Summit the coach of the Lady VOL’S (University of Tennessee) she was a member of the silver medal team in 1976.

September 1988 Seoul South Korea- The USA defeated Yugoslavia 77-70 to win the gold medal game. Star of the Game was Teresa Edwards as she took over on the 2nd half (USA only led 40-34) of the game scoring 14 of her 18 team-leading points in the last 20 minuets. She also scored 3 fast breaks in a row that put the USA up by 12 points. Head Coach Kay Yow (North Carolina University).

1992 Barcelona,Spain July-August- USA lost to the Unified Team which was the name of what had been the USSR (meaning Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, other Republics) by a score of 79-73. Unified Team would go onto win the gold medal by bating China 77-66.
USA Women would regroup and go on to beat Cuba in the Bronze Medal Game 88-74. The USA high scorer for the tournament was Teresa Edwards 18pts (her 3rd Olympics 1984,88,92).

1996 Atlanta,USA July to August- Led by head coach Tara VanDerveer (Stanford University) would win the gold medal in front of 32,987 spectators. They beat Brazil 111-87. USA shot an amazing 66.2% from the feil for the game. Star player was Lisa Leslie 29 points and all 12 players of the team scored in this game.
This game was credited for the creation of the WNBA as the women where given alot of media attention and benefited from a home crowd that averaged 25,320 per game.

What is a good song to run out to for a JV girls basketball game, perfrerably with the word attack in it?
I need to make a warm-up Cd for my JV basketball team to run out to, and our theme for our team is attack, like the cheer. But I’d perferably like a really cool song with the word attack in it to run out to. But feel free to name off any songs that would get us pumped up for the game that are popular right now also.
